Kejriwal Flags Worsening Air Crisis in Delhi, Slams Governments Over Inaction

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has expressed serious concern over rising air pollution in the capital, accusing the central and state governments of inaction. He warned of health risks and urged citizens to stay cautious as worsening air quality continues to impact daily life in Delhi.

New Delhi: As Delhi once again grapples with deteriorating air quality, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has voiced sharp concern over the rising levels of pollution in the national capital, calling the situation deeply alarming and potentially dangerous for public health. His remarks come amid growing anxiety among residents as smog and poor air conditions tighten their grip on the city.

Addressing the issue, Kejriwal said air pollution in Delhi has reached troubling levels, warning that the worsening environment poses a serious threat, particularly to children, the elderly, and those with existing health conditions. He accused both the central government and the concerned state authorities of failing to take visible or effective measures to curb the crisis, suggesting that their response reflects a worrying lack of urgency.

The Delhi chief minister alleged that despite repeated warnings and recurring seasonal patterns of pollution, there has been no concrete action on the ground to mitigate emissions or protect citizens from the hazardous air. According to him, the absence of decisive steps gives the impression that rising pollution levels are being treated as routine rather than as an emergency demanding coordinated intervention.

Alongside his criticism, Kejriwal urged residents of the capital to remain cautious and prioritize their health during this period of poor air quality. He appealed to people to take preventive measures and stay alert as pollution continues to affect daily life across the city.
